Welcome to the Cultural Arts Centre Project at Makumira
Traditional music and dance preservation and promotion in Northern Tanzania is a project of Tumaini University Makumira funded by European Union (EU), initiated by the Department of Music. It is a project that focuses on establishing activities and facilities for archives, performances, training, and other programmes related to traditional music and dance. Our partners are Kilimanjaro Film Institute (TZ) and Alliance Franco-Tanzanienne of Arusha (TZ). The project will focus on Arusha and Kilimanjaro Regions.
The overall objective is to stimulate economic, social, and human development in Tanzania through culture.
The specific objective is to preserve and promote the unique cultural heritage of music and dance in Northern Tanzania.
